Maurie Nielsen Memorial 2019

This event acknowledges the outstanding contribution made to the Colac Golf Club by past Life Member Maurie Nielsen.

Competition Conditions
  1. No entry will be accepted unless accompanied by the necessary fees.
  2. The Tournament Committee of the Club will have management responsibility for all Tournament operations.
  3. Players are responsible for ensuring they are playing with a correct Golf Australia Handicap and using the Scale Rating of 129 [men] or 124 [ladies] to find the Daily  Handicap for this competition.
  4. Players must be ready to play when called upon by the Committee to do so.
  5. Entries are restricted to Amateurs who are members of clubs of the Victorian Golf Association or a golf club registered with such State or overseas Association as are affiliated with or recognized by this Association, or of clubs affiliated with the Golf Victoria and the Committee will have the right to refuse the entry of any person without being requested to give any reason for such refusal.
  6. The competition will be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as adopted by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, Scotland, together with such local rules as are in force on the course over which the competition takes place.
  7. The Tournament Committee of the club (subject to the condition 6) shall deal with any dispute or protest, which must be lodged in writing with the Captain before 2.30 pm on the day which the disputed matter has risen.
  8. The Committee, may in the event of bad weather, or for any other reason, either cancel or shorten any contest, or fix another day.
  9. The Committee shall have the power to limit the number of entries that are received for any event and to alter the time fixed for starting any event as indicated in this program.
  10. In the event of a tie, a count-back, using the method recommended by the Golf Victoria will decide the winner.
  11. The Committee reserves the right to penalize any player for unduly slow play.
  1. Any player without a G.A. handicap may enter this competition but with a handicap of 18 for men and 24 for women. Players with lapsed handicaps will play off their last recorded GA handicap.
  2. Men’s GA handicap- maximum 27 Women’s GA handicap- maximum 36
  3. Buggy slicks or wide tyres are compulsory
  4. Soft spikes are recommended, metal spikes not permitted.
  5. Carrying and using sand buckets is compulsory
  6. Other Conditions of play will be given out on the day
