Proposed Community Hub for Colac

Preliminary discussions have commenced between the Colac Golf Club, the Colac
RSL Sub-Branch and the Colac Turf Club regarding the formation of a community
club and sporting precinct to house all three organisations.

According to Colac Golf Club President, Mr Murray McCoombe, the three clubs have
recently entered negotiations to develop the proposed new facility to be located
within the golf/racing club grounds.

“A feasibility study, including a rigorous due diligence process, is underway and of
course, we are working with local Council and the State Government to ensure a
successful outcome for all,” said Mr McCoombe.

Mr McCoombe advised that consultation with all club members and with the wider
community, will be undertaken in the first half of 2011.

“We are truly excited about the opportunity that this community club and sporting
precinct will offer to our members and to the people of Colac and the surrounding
districts.”

No firmer details are known at this early stage, but it is likely that discussions
between the clubs will be ongoing through the first quarter of 2011 with public
consultation scheduled to follow.
